A few people have emailed me asking about the requirements for BizTalk 2006, so I thought I would pop them up on here in case they are of use to anyone else. As always, these requirements have been defined for the beta version that I have and therefore may change, such as it won't obviously require a beta version of Visual Studio when RTM. Also, not all of the software requirements will be needed if you don't want the related functionality in your BizTalk group.

Hardware Requirements

• 450 MHz or higher Intel Pentium-compatible CPU
• 512 MB of RAM
• 6 GB of available hard disk space
• CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
• Microsoft Windows 2003 compatible VGA or higher-resolution monitor set to 800 x 600 pixels resolution or greater OR
• Microsoft Windows XP compatible VGA or higher-resolution monitor set to 800 x 600 pixels resolution or greater

• Network adapter card (recommend 10 MBps or larger bandwidth)

Security Requirements

• You must log on as either the Administrator or as a member of the local Administrators group
• You must have Database Administrator (DBA) privileges on the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 computer
