I have just received an email from Donald Farmer, Group Program Manager for SSIS, who took great delight in telling me that his product has claimed the title of "Best ETL Software" in the Techweb Readers' Choice Awards. I don't usually take much notive of award ceremonies (those god-awful celeb-kiss-@rse award shows on TV make me wanna puke) but in this case I'll make a hypocritical exception. I made a concious decision about two and a half years ago to devote a large part of my professional career to learning and using SSIS and not a workday goes by where that decision isn't vindicated, so its great to see that other people appreciate the product as much as I do. When you consider that SSIS is a v1 product and it has beaten established ETL vendors to this title then its a fairly astounding achievement.
