"Conchango Leads In The Field Of European Web Design Agencies"

I know this has already been trumpeted elsewhere on the Conchango blogs - but I thought it needed saying again. The research and analysis company Forrester assessed 16 different design companies (including AKQA (who designed the Xbox 360 user interface), Agency.com and LB Icon) in Europe, spoke to them, assessed the work they had done, and talked to their clients - the result - Conchango are the ‘clear leaders of the pack’ - the report even mentioned our "Community Days" (which occur every 6 weeks where for one day the entire company gathers to develop best practices, intellectual property and spread knowledge - for more details see an earlier post).

One of the reasons for reposting this information is that many people who read blogs.conchango.com do so for the technical content - Conchango employs some of the smartest people in this industry (many of whom are far too busy to blog) - but as the title of this post intimates - we don't just do "business" and "technical" - we also do design, user experience and interactive media. If anyone has ever done a "DIY Check-in" (see left) on a Virgin Atlantic Kiosk then you know the quality of what this team can achieve.

The "Interactive Media" team also leads the way in tackling some of design related project delivery issues we have encountered, such how to deliver User Experience in an Agile, Iterative way (we devoted a whole afternoon session at a recent Community Day to it and we shall be revisiting the topic at the next Community Day in a couple of weeks time), also with the coming of Vista, Windows Presentation Foundation and the Microsoft Expression Toolset we're already experimenting to see how we can increase cohesion between design and development in improve cross-fertilization of ideas and development / design practices.

Speaking of Vista - we presented a session at the recent Microsoft and Computer Arts: "Designing the Next Generation of User Experiences" talk at the Royal Opera House earlier this month where we demo'd work we're doing with FT Vista sidebar Gadget and a concept for a Robbie Williams WPF site which offers an interactive concert experience and product visualization.
